Service Integration
Integrating existing translation services itranslate4.eu aims to provide translation services from any supported language to any other at a single web site. To reach this goal, many different translation services must be integrated and, in many cases, linked to each other (Task 1.1). The services provided by the consortium members communicates through a common API (Task 1.2). User queries arriving at itranslate4.eu must be distributed among service providers by a central server application using this common interface (Task 1.3). The server runs the module which rank alternative translations in accordance with the evaluation protocol (Task 1.4). The objective is to ensure seamless interoperability between different online MT providers, which will be guaranteed through extensive testing (Task 1.5).

Evaluation
Evaluation forms an integral part of the implemented solution. One of the long-term goals of the consortium is the creation of reliable standards for evaluating machine translation (Task 4.1). We plan to publish up-to-date evaluation data for our translators. To achieve this end, we set up a web based evaluation suite, which is used internally (Task 4.2). To help the development of a reliable evaluation protocol, the evaluation toolkit will be first used by the consortium members to evaluate their own services (Task 4.3).
