WP1.

1.1 Specification of common API for translation services – due: 12, Public

A technical document specifying the interface through which translation services can communicate with itranslate4.eu.

1.2 Central Communication Server – due: 12, Public

A working prototype of the central server application managing the communication with translation services. This prototype is used internally to begin testing the integration and the application itself.

WP2.

A working prototype of the spell checking service, the virtual keyboard facility, the language detection engine, the translated search module, the system managing online ordering of human translations, the user account management system and the RSS feed translation module with a suitable test application demonstrating correct operation and interoperability with itranslate4.eu

A technical document describing the interface through which human translation offices can connect to the subsystem at itranslate4.eu that allows users to order human translations

A document describing the functional elements and their graphical representation on itranslate4.eu

A working prototype of the itranslate4.eu website, demonstrating its compatibility with major browser applications on different platforms

WP4.

4.1 Evaluation protocol – due: 12, Public

A technical document describing the evaluation method used at itranslate4.eu to assess the quality of translation services

4.2 Test Suite – due: 12, Public - Test suite, Documentation

A working prototype of the evaluation toolkit. The toolkit contains scripts for automatic evaluation of machine translation systems. The statistical script summarizes the various results into a single metric.The summarized result will be combined with the result of the human evaluation and the result of user evaluation collected on the website. The all-inclusive final result will guide the ranking of the translation systems.

4.3 Evaluation campaign report – due 24, Public

A publication giving an overview of current machine translation services based on the test results obtained during internal testing and reporting the results of an external evaluation campaign organized to rank the partner translators and to test the implemented evaluation tools. These campaigns will be hold annually, the first one organized in task A 4.3. Result of the evaluation campaigns will be accessible from the website.

WP5.

5.1Technical Report on system operation – due: 24, Public

A report describing the technical aspects of the first year of operation and analysing user behaviour during the first year of operation. Further exploitation plans may be based on this document. The report investigates system reliability as a whole and for individual service providers/services and identifies bottlenecks and risks to optimal system performance.
